一、字义：

A. 指身体上的软弱：通常为「疾病，不适」，徒5:15 异版；带νόσος 太8:17 ；ἔχειν ἀ. 有病，⊙ 徒28:9 ； θεραπεύεσθαι ἀπὸ τῶν ἀ. 医治他们的病，路5:15 。或ἀπολύεσθαι τῆς ἀ. 脱离这病，路13:12 ；ἔτη ἔχειν ἐν ἀ.（见ἔτος－SG2094末）一个人病了，约5:5 ，参约11:4 。δι᾽ ἀσθένειαν τῆς σαρκὸς 因为身体有疾病，加4:13 。ἀσθένειαι（复数如同林后12:5,9,10 ）屡次患病，提前5:23 。被鬼引起的，πνεύματα ἀσθενείας 致病的灵，路8:2 原文，路13:11 。

B. 一般用法：指任何一种的软弱（反于δύναμις）林前15:43 。δυναμοῦσθαι ἀπὸ ἀ.软弱变为刚强，来11:34 。论保罗的ἀ.出现于：τὰ τῆς ἀ. μου 我软弱的事，林后11:30 ，或αἰ ἀσθένειαι（见以上A.）林后12:5,9,10 ，神的δύναμις就显明出来，林后12:9 （见τελέω－SG5055一末）。

C. 一般用法：指所有人肉体所承受的软弱。指基督－ἐσταυρώθη ἐξ ἀ.因软弱被钉在十字架（反于ἐκ δυνάμεως θεοῦ 神的大能）林后13:4 。περίκειται ἀσθένειαν被软弱所困，来5:2 。或ἀ. ἔχειν有软弱，来7:28 。

二、喻意：指「胆怯」。（带φόβος害怕和τρόμος颤抖）林前2:3 。指判断力的软弱－τῆς σαρκός肉体的，罗6:19 。指属灵亮光之缺乏，罗8:26 。指道德上的软弱－συμπαθῆσαι ταῖς ἀ.体恤我们的软弱，来4:15 。*
