28:1 And2532 when they were escaped1295, then5119 they knew1921 that3754 the island3520 was called2564 Melita3194.
28:2 And1161 the barbarous people0915 shewed3930 us2254 no3756 little5177 kindness5363: for1063 they kindled0381 a fire4443, and received4355 us2248 every one3956, because1223 of the present2186 rain5205, and2532 because1223 of the cold5592.
28:3 And1161 when Paul3972 had gathered4962 a bundle4128 of sticks5434, and2532 laid2007 {them} on1909 the fire4443, there came1831 a viper2191 out of1537 the heat2329, and fastened on2510 his0846 hand5495.
28:4 And1161 when5613 the barbarians0915 saw1492 the {venomous} beast2342 hang2910 on1537 his0846 hand5495, they said3004 among4314 themselves0240, No doubt3843 this3778 man0444 is2076 a murderer5406, whom3739, though he hath escaped1295-1537 the sea2281, yet vengeance1349 suffereth1439 not3756 to live2198.
28:5 And3303-3767 he shook off0660 the beast2342 into1519 the fire4442, and felt3958 no3762 harm2556.
28:6 Howbeit1161 they looked4328 when he0846 should3195 have swollen4092, or2228 fallen down2667 dead3498 suddenly0869: but1161 after they0846 had looked4328 a great while1909-4183, and2532 saw2334 no3367 harm0824 come1096 to1519 him0846, they changed their minds3328, and said3004 that he0846 was1511 a god2316.
28:7 1161In1722-4012 the same1565 quarters5117 were5225 possessions5564 of the chief man4413 of the island3520, whose name was3686 Publius4196; who3739 received0324 us2248, and lodged us3579 three5140 days2250 courteously5390.
28:8 And1161 it came to pass1096, that the father3962 of Publius4196 lay2621 sick of4912 a fever4446 and2532 of a bloody flux1420: to4314 whom3739 Paul3972 entered in1525, and2532 prayed4336, and laid2007 his hands5495 on2007 him0846, and healed2390 him0846.
28:9 So3767 when1096 this5127 was done1096, others3062 also2532, which3588 had2192 diseases0769 in1722 the island3520, came4334, and2532 were healed2323:

28:13 And from thence3606 we fetched a compass4022, and came2658 to1519 Rhegium4484: and2532 after3326 one3391 day2250 the south wind3558 blew1920, and we came2064 the next day1206 to1519 Puteoli4223:
28:14 Where3757 we found2147 brethren0080, and were desired3870 to tarry1961 with1909 them0846 seven2033 days2250: and2532 so3779 we went2064 toward1519 Rome4516.
28:15 And from thence2547, when the brethren0080 heard0191 of4012 us2257, they came1831 to meet0529-1519 us2254 as far as0891 Appii0675 forum5410, and2532 The three5140 taverns4999: whom3739 when Paul3972 saw1492, he thanked2168 God2316, and took2983 courage2294.

28:19 But1161 when the Jews2453 spake against0483 {it}, I was constrained0315 to appeal1941 unto Caesar2541; not3756 that5613 I had2192 ought5100 to accuse2723 my3450 nation1484 of2723.
28:20 For1223 this5026 cause0156 therefore3767 have I called3870 for you5209, to see1492 {you}, and2532 to speak with4354 {you}: because that1752 for1063 the hope1680 of Israel2474 I am bound with4029 this5026 chain0254.
28:21 And1161 they said2036 unto4314 him0846, We2249 neither3777 received1209 letters1121 out of0575 Judaea2449 concerning4012 thee4675, neither3777 any5100 of the brethren0080 that came3854 shewed0518 or2228 spake2980 any5100 harm4190 of4012 thee4675.
28:22 But1161 we desire0515 to hear0191 of3844 thee4675 what3739 thou thinkest5426: for1063 as concerning4012-3303 this5026 sect0139, we2254 know2076-1110 that3754 every where3837 it is spoken against0483.
28:23 And1161 when they had appointed5021 him0846 a day2250, there came2240 many4119 to4314 him0846 into1519 {his} lodging3578; to whom3739 he expounded1620 and testified1263 the kingdom0932 of God2316-5037, persuading3982 them0846 concerning4012 Jesus2424, both5037 out of0575 the law3551 of Moses3475, and2532 {out of} the prophets4396, from0575 morning4404 till2193 evening2073.
28:24 And2532 some3303 believed3982 the things which were spoken3004, and1161 some believed not0569.
28:25 And1161 when they agreed not0800-5607 among4314 themselves0240, they departed0630, after that Paul3972 had spoken2036 one1520 word4487-3754, Well2573 spake2980 the Holy0040 Ghost4151 by1223 Esaias2268 the prophet4396 unto4314 our2257 fathers3962,
28:26 Saying3004, Go4198 unto4314 this5126 people2992, and2532 say2036, Hearing0189 ye shall hear0191, and2532 shall4920 not3364 understand4920; and2532 seeing0991 ye shall see0991, and2532 not3364 perceive1492:
28:27 For1063 the heart2588 of this5127 people2992 is waxed gross3975, and2532 their ears3775 are dull0917 of hearing0191, and2532 their0846 eyes3788 have they closed2576; lest3379 they should see1492 with {their} eyes3788, and2532 hear0191 with {their} ears3775, and2532 understand4920 with {their} heart2588, and2532 should be converted1994, and2532 I should heal2390 them0846.
28:28 Be it2077 known1110 therefore3767 unto you5213, that3754 the salvation4992 of God2316 is sent0649 unto the Gentiles1484, and2532 {that} they will hear0191 it0846.
28:29 And2532 when he0846 had said2036 these words5023, the Jews2453 departed0565, and had2192 great4183 reasoning4803 among1722 themselves1438.
