and rulest4910 {not} thou over all the kingdoms4467 of the heathen1471? and in thine hand3027 {is there not} power3581 and might1369, so that none is able to withstand3320 thee? 20:7 {Art} not thou our God0430, {who} didst drive out3423 the inhabitants3427 of this land0776 before6440 thy people5971 Israel3478, and gavest5414 it to the seed2233 of Abraham0085 thy friend0157 for ever5769? 20:8 And they dwelt3427 therein, and have built1129 thee a sanctuary4720 therein for thy name8034, saying0559, 20:9 If, {when} evil7451 cometh0935 upon us, {as} the sword2719, judgment8196, or pestilence1698, or famine7458, we stand5975 before6440 this house1004, and in thy presence6440, (for thy name8034 {is} in this house1004,) and cry2199 unto thee in our affliction6869, then thou wilt hear8085 and help3467. 20:10 And now, behold, the children1121 of Ammon5983 and Moab4124 and mount2022 Seir8165, whom thou wouldest not let5414 Israel3478 invade0935, when they came out0935 of the land0776 of Egypt4714, but they turned5493 from them, and destroyed8045 them not; 20:11 Behold, {I say, how} they reward1580 us, to come0935 to cast us out1644 of thy possession3425, which thou hast given us to inherit3423. 20:12 O our God0430, wilt thou not judge8199 them? for we have no might3581 against6440 this great7227 company1995 that cometh0935 against us; neither know3045 we0587 what to do6213: but our eyes5869 {are} upon thee. 20:13 And all Judah3063 stood5975 before6440 the LORD3068, with1571 their little ones2945, their wives0802, and their children1121. 20:14 Then upon Jahaziel3166 the son1121 of Zechariah2148, the son1121 of Benaiah1141, the son1121 of Jeiel3273, the son1121 of Mattaniah4983, a Levite3881 of the sons1121 of Asaph0623, came the Spirit7307 of the LORD3068 in the midst8432 of the congregation6951; 20:15 And he said0559, Hearken7181 ye, all Judah3063, and ye inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem3389, and thou king4428 Jehoshaphat3092, Thus saith0559 the LORD3068 unto you, Be not afraid3372 nor dismayed2865 by reason6440 of this great7227 multitude1995; for the battle4421 {is} not yours, but God's0430. 20:16 To morrow4279 go ye down3381 against them: behold, they come up5927 by the cliff4608 of Ziz6732; and ye shall find4672 them at the end5490 of the brook5158, before6440 the wilderness4057 of Jeruel3385. 20:17 Ye shall not {need} to fight3898 in this2063 {battle}: set3320 yourselves, stand5975 ye {still}, and see7200 the salvation3444 of the LORD3068 with you, O Judah3063 and Jerusalem3389: fear3372 not, nor be dismayed2865; to morrow4279 go out3318 against6440 them: for the LORD3068 {will be} with you. 20:18 And Jehoshaphat3092 bowed6915 his head with {his} face0639 to the ground0776: and all Judah3063 and the inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem3389 fell5307 before6440 the LORD3068, worshipping7812 the LORD3068. 20:19 And the Levites3881, of the children1121 of the Kohathites6956, and of the children1121 of the Korhites7145, stood up6965 to praise1984 the LORD3068 God0430 of Israel3478 with a loud1419 voice6963 on high4605. 20:20 And they rose early7925 in the morning1242, and went forth3318 into the wilderness4057 of Tekoa8620: and as they went forth3318, Jehoshaphat3092 stood5975 and said0559, Hear8085 me, O Judah3063, and ye inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem3389; Believe0539 in the LORD3068 your God0430, so shall ye be established0539; believe0539 his prophets5030, so shall ye prosper6743. 20:21 And when he had consulted3289 with the people5971, he appointed5975 singers7891 unto the LORD3068, and that should praise1984 the beauty1927 of holiness6944, as they went out3318 before6440 the army2502, and to say0559, Praise3034 the LORD3068; for his mercy2617 {endureth} for ever5769. 20:22 And when6256 they began2490 to sing7440 and to praise8416, the LORD3068 set5414 ambushments0693 against the children1121 of Ammon5983, Moab4124, and mount2022 Seir8165, which were come0935 against Judah3063; and they were smitten5062. 20:23 For the children1121 of Ammon5983 and Moab4124 stood up5975 against the inhabitants3427 of mount2022 Seir8165, utterly to slay2763 and destroy8045 {them}: and when they had made an end3615 of the inhabitants3427 of Seir8165, every one0376 helped5826 to destroy4889 another7453. 20:24 And when Judah3063 came0935 toward the watch tower4707-4708 in the wilderness4057, they looked6437 unto the multitude1995, and, behold, they {were} dead bodies6297 fallen5307 to the earth0776, and none escaped6413. 20:25 And when Jehoshaphat3092 and his people5971 came0935 to take away0962 the spoil7998 of them, they found4672 among them in abundance7230 both riches7399 with the dead bodies6297, and precious2532 jewels3627, which they stripped off5337 for themselves, more than0369 they could carry away4853: and they were three7969 days3117 in gathering0962 of the spoil7998, it was so much7227. 20:26 And on the fourth7243 day3117 they assembled6950 themselves in the valley6010 of Berachah1294; for there they blessed1288 the LORD3068: therefore the name8034 of the same place4725 was called7121, The valley6010 of Berachah1294, unto this day3117. 20:27 Then they returned7725, every man0376 of Judah3063 and Jerusalem3389, and Jehoshaphat3092 in the forefront7218 of them, to go again7725 to Jerusalem3389 with joy8057; for the LORD3068 had made them to rejoice8055 over their enemies0341. 20:28 And they came0935 to Jerusalem3389 with psalteries5035 and harps3658 and trumpets2689 unto the house1004 of the LORD3068. 20:29 And the fear6343 of God0430 was on all the kingdoms4467 of {those} countries0776, when they had heard8085 that the LORD3068 fought3898 against the enemies0341 of Israel3478. 20:30 So the realm4438 of Jehoshaphat3092 was quiet8252: for his God0430 gave him rest5117 round about5439. 20:31 And Jehoshaphat3092 reigned4427 over Judah3063: {he was} thirty7970 and five2568 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign4427, and he reigned4427 twenty6242 and five2568 years8141 in Jerusalem3389. And his mother's0517 name8034 {was} Azubah5806 the daughter1323 of Shilhi7977. 20:32 And he walked3212 in the way1870 of Asa0609 his father0001, and departed5493 not from it, doing6213 {that which was} right3477 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068. 20:33 Howbeit the high places1116 were not taken away5493: for as yet the people5971 had not prepared3559 their hearts3824 unto the God0430 of their fathers0001. 20:34 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Jehoshaphat3092, first7223 and last0314, behold, they {are} written3789 in the book1697 of Jehu3058 the son1121 of Hanani2607, who {is} mentioned5927 in the book5612 of the kings4428 of Israel3478. 20:35 And after0310 this did Jehoshaphat3092 king4428 of Judah3063 join2266 himself with Ahaziah0274 king4428 of Israel3478, who did6213 very wickedly7561: 20:36 And he joined2266 himself with him to make6213 ships0591 to go3212 to Tarshish8659: and they made6213 the ships0591 in Eziongeber6100. 20:37 Then Eliezer0461 the son1121 of Dodavah1735 of Mareshah4762 prophesied5012 against Jehoshaphat3092, saying0559, Because thou hast joined2266 thyself with Ahaziah0274, the LORD3068 hath broken6555 thy works4639. And the ships0591 were broken7665, that they were not able6113 to go3212 to Tarshish8659.
