33:1 Manasseh4519 {was} twelve8147-6240 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign4427, and he reigned4427 fifty2572 and five2568 years8141 in Jerusalem3389:
33:2 But did6213 {that which was} evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068, like unto the abominations8441 of the heathen1471, whom the LORD3068 had cast out3423 before6440 the children1121 of Israel3478.
33:3 For he built1129 again7725 the high places1116 which Hezekiah3169 his father0001 had broken down5422, and he reared up6965 altars4196 for Baalim1168, and made6213 groves0842, and worshipped7812 all the host6635 of heaven8064, and served5647 them.
33:4 Also he built1129 altars4196 in the house1004 of the LORD3068, whereof the LORD3068 had said0559, In Jerusalem3389 shall my name8034 be for ever5769.
33:5 And he built1129 altars4196 for all the host6635 of heaven8064 in the two8147 courts2691 of the house1004 of the LORD3068.
33:6 And he caused5674 his children1121 to pass through5674 the fire0784 in the valley1516 of the son1121 of Hinnom2011: also he observed times6049, and used enchantments5172, and used witchcraft3784, and dealt6213 with a familiar spirit0178, and with wizards3049: he wrought6213 much7235 evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068, to provoke him to anger3707.
33:7 And he set7760 a carved image6459, the idol5566 which he had made6213, in the house1004 of God0430, of which God0430 had said0559 to David1732 and to Solomon8010 his son1121, In this house1004, and in Jerusalem3389, which I have chosen0977 before all the tribes7626 of Israel3478, will I put7760 my name8034 for ever5865:
33:8 Neither will I any more3254 remove5493 the foot7272 of Israel3478 from out5921 of the land0127 which I have appointed5975 for your fathers0001; so that0518 they will take heed8104 to do6213 all that I have commanded6680 them, according to the whole law8451 and the statutes2706 and the ordinances4941 by the hand3027 of Moses4872.
33:9 So Manasseh4519 made8582 Judah3063 and the inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem3389 to err8582, {and} to do6213 worse7451 than the heathen1471, whom the LORD3068 had destroyed8045 before6440 the children1121 of Israel3478.
33:10 And the LORD3068 spake1696 to Manasseh4519, and to his people5971: but they would not hearken7181.
33:11 Wherefore the LORD3068 brought0935 upon them the captains of8269 the host of6635 the king4428 of Assyria0804, which took3920 Manasseh4519 among the thorns2336, and bound him0631 with fetters5178, and carried3212 him to Babylon0894.
33:12 And when he was in affliction6887, he besought2470 the LORD3068 his God0430, and humbled3665 himself greatly3966 before6440 the God0430 of his fathers0001,
33:13 And prayed6419 unto him: and he was intreated6279 of him, and heard8085 his supplication8467, and brought him again7725 to Jerusalem3389 into his kingdom4438. Then Manasseh4519 knew3045 that the LORD3068 he {was} God0430.
33:14 Now after this0310 he built1129 a wall2346 without2435 the city5892 of David1732, on the west side4628 of Gihon1521, in the valley5158, even to the entering in0935 at the fish1709 gate8179, and compassed5437 about Ophel6077, and raised it up1361 a very great height3966, and put7760 captains8269 of war2428 in all the fenced1219 cities5892 of Judah3063.
33:15 And he took away5493 the strange5236 gods0430, and the idol5566 out of the house1004 of the LORD3068, and all the altars4196 that he had built1129 in the mount2022 of the house1004 of the LORD3068, and in Jerusalem3389, and cast7993 {them} out2351 of the city5892.
33:16 And he repaired1129 the altar4196 of the LORD3068, and sacrificed2076 thereon peace8002 offerings2077 and thank offerings8426, and commanded0559 Judah3063 to serve5647 the LORD3068 God0430 of Israel3478.
33:17 Nevertheless0061 the people5971 did sacrifice2076 still in the high places1116, {yet} unto the LORD3068 their God0430 only.
33:18 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Manasseh4519, and his prayer8605 unto his God0430, and the words1697 of the seers2374 that spake1696 to him in the name8034 of the LORD3068 God0430 of Israel3478, behold, they {are written} in the book1697 of the kings4428 of Israel3478.
33:19 His prayer8605 also, and {how God} was intreated6279 of him, and all his sin2403, and his trespass4604, and the places4725 wherein he built1129 high places1116, and set up5975 groves0842 and graven images6456, before6440 he was humbled3665: behold, they {are} written3789 among the sayings1697 of the seers2374-2335.
33:20 So Manasseh4519 slept7901 with his fathers0001, and they buried6912 him in his own house1004: and Amon0526 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.
33:21 Amon0526 {was} two8147 and twenty6242 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign4427, and reigned4427 two8147 years8141 in Jerusalem3389.
33:22 But he did6213 {that which was} evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068, as did6213 Manasseh4519 his father0001: for Amon0526 sacrificed2076 unto all the carved images6456 which Manasseh4519 his father0001 had made6213, and served5647 them;
33:23 And humbled3665 not himself before6440 the LORD3068, as Manasseh4519 his father0001 had humbled3665 himself; but Amon0526 trespassed0819 more and more7235.
33:24 And his servants5650 conspired7194 against him, and slew4191 him in his own house1004.
33:25 But the people5971 of the land0776 slew5221 all them that had conspired7194 against king4428 Amon0526; and the people5971 of the land0776 made4427 Josiah2977 his son1121 king4427 in his stead.
