36:1 Then the people5971 of the land0776 took3947 Jehoahaz3059 the son1121 of Josiah2977, and made him king4427 in his father's0001 stead in Jerusalem3389.
36:2 Jehoahaz3099 {was} twenty6242 and three7969 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign4427, and he reigned4427 three7969 months2320 in Jerusalem3389.
36:3 And the king4428 of Egypt4714 put him down5493 at Jerusalem3389, and condemned6064 the land0776 in an hundred3967 talents3603 of silver3701 and a talent3603 of gold2091.
36:4 And the king4428 of Egypt4714 made Eliakim0471 his brother0251 king4427 over Judah3063 and Jerusalem3389, and turned5437 his name8034 to Jehoiakim3079. And Necho5224 took3947 Jehoahaz3099 his brother0251, and carried0935 him to Egypt4714.
36:5 Jehoiakim3079 {was} twenty6242 and five2568 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign4427, and he reigned4427 eleven0259-6240 years8141 in Jerusalem3389: and he did6213 {that which was} evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068 his God0430.
36:6 Against him came up5927 Nebuchadnezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon0894, and bound0631 him in fetters5178, to carry3212 him to Babylon0894.
36:7 Nebuchadnezzar5019 also carried0935 of the vessels3627 of the house1004 of the LORD3068 to Babylon0894, and put5414 them in his temple1964 at Babylon0894.
36:8 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Jehoiakim3079, and his abominations8441 which he did6213, and that which was found4672 in him, behold, they {are} written3789 in the book5612 of the kings4428 of Israel3478 and Judah3063: and Jehoiachin3078 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.

36:10 And when the year8141 was expired8666, king4428 Nebuchadnezzar5019 sent7971, and brought0935 him to Babylon0894, with the goodly2532 vessels3627 of the house1004 of the LORD3068, and made Zedekiah6667 his brother0251 king4427 over Judah3063 and Jerusalem3389.
36:11 Zedekiah6667 {was} one0259 and twenty6242 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign4427, and reigned4427 eleven0259-6240 years8141 in Jerusalem3389.
36:12 And he did6213 {that which was} evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068 his God0430, {and} humbled3665 not himself before6440 Jeremiah3414 the prophet5030 {speaking} from the mouth6310 of the LORD3068.
36:13 And he also rebelled4775 against king4428 Nebuchadnezzar5019, who had made him swear7650 by God0430: but he stiffened7185 his neck6203, and hardened0553 his heart3824 from turning7725 unto the LORD3068 God0430 of Israel3478.
36:14 Moreover all the chief8269 of the priests3548, and the people5971, transgressed4603 very4604 much7235 after all the abominations8441 of the heathen1471; and polluted2930 the house1004 of the LORD3068 which he had hallowed6942 in Jerusalem3389.
36:15 And the LORD3068 God0430 of their fathers0001 sent7971 to them by3027 his messengers4397, rising up betimes7925, and sending7971; because he had compassion2550 on his people5971, and on his dwelling place4583:
36:16 But they mocked3931 the messengers4397 of God0430, and despised0959 his words1697, and misused8591 his prophets5030, until the wrath2534 of the LORD3068 arose5927 against his people5971, till {there was} no remedy4832.
36:17 Therefore he brought5927 upon them the king4428 of the Chaldees3778, who slew2026 their young men0970 with the sword2719 in the house1004 of their sanctuary4720, and had no compassion2550 upon young man0970 or maiden1330, old man2205, or him that stooped for age3486: he gave5414 {them} all into his hand3027.
36:18 And all the vessels3627 of the house1004 of God0430, great1419 and small6996, and the treasures0214 of the house1004 of the LORD3068, and the treasures0214 of the king4428, and of his princes8269; all {these} he brought0935 to Babylon0894.
36:19 And they burnt8313 the house1004 of God0430, and brake down5422 the wall2346 of Jerusalem3389, and burnt8313 all the palaces0759 thereof with fire0784, and destroyed7843 all the goodly4261 vessels3627 thereof.
36:20 And them that had escaped7611 from the sword2719 carried he away1540 to Babylon0894; where they were servants5650 to him and his sons1121 until the reign4427 of the kingdom4438 of Persia6539:
36:21 To fulfil4390 the word1697 of the LORD3068 by the mouth6310 of Jeremiah3414, until the land0776 had enjoyed7521 her sabbaths7676: {for} as long as3117 she lay desolate8074 she kept sabbath7673, to fulfil4390 threescore and ten7657 years8141.

36:23 Thus saith0559 Cyrus3566 king4428 of Persia6539, All the kingdoms4467 of the earth0776 hath the LORD3068 God0430 of heaven8064 given5414 me; and he hath charged6485 me to build1129 him an house1004 in Jerusalem3389, which {is} in Judah3063. Who {is there} among you of all his people5971? The LORD3068 his God0430 {be} with him, and let him go up5927.
