12:1 In1722 the mean time3739, when there were gathered together1996 an innumerable multitude3461 of people3793, insomuch that5620 they trode2662 one upon another0240, he began0756 to say3004 unto4314 his0846 disciples3101 first of all4412, Beware4337 ye1438 of0575 the leaven2219 of the Pharisees5330, which3748 is2076 hypocrisy5272.
12:2 For1161 there is2076 nothing3762 covered4780, that3739 shall0601 not3756 be revealed0601; neither2532 hid2927, that3739 shall1097 not3756 be known1097.
12:3 Therefore0473-3739 whatsoever3745 ye have spoken2036 in1722 darkness4653 shall be heard0191 in1722 the light5457; and2532 that which3739 ye have spoken2980 in4314 the ear3775 in1722 closets5009 shall be proclaimed2784 upon1909 the housetops1430.
12:4 And1161 I say3004 unto you5213 my3450 friends5384, Be5399 not3361 afraid5399 of them0575 that kill0615 the body4983, and2532 after3326 that5023 have2192 no3361-5100 more4055 that they can do4160.
12:5 But1161 I will forewarn5263 you5213 whom5101 ye shall fear5399: Fear5399 him, which after3326 he hath killed0615 hath2192 power1849 to cast1685 into1519 hell1067; yea3483, I say3004 unto you5213, Fear5399 him5126.
12:6 Are4453 not3780 five4002 sparrows4765 sold4453 for two1417 farthings0787, and2532 not3756 one1520 of1537 them0846 is2076 forgotten1950 before1799 God2316?
12:7 But0235 even the very2532 hairs2359 of your5216 head2776 are0705 all3956 numbered0705. Fear5399 not3361 therefore3767: ye are of more value1308 than many4183 sparrows4765.
12:8 Also1161 I say3004 unto you5213, Whosoever3956-3739-0302 shall confess3670-1722 me1698 before1715 men0444-1722, him0846 shall3670 the Son5207 of man0444 also2532 confess3670 before1715 the angels0032 of God2316:
12:9 But1161 he that denieth0720 me3165 before1799 men0444 shall be denied0533 before1799 the angels0032 of God2316.
12:10 And2532 whosoever3956-3739 shall speak2046 a word3056 against1519 the Son5207 of man0444, it shall be forgiven0863 him0846: but1161 unto him that blasphemeth0987 against1519 the Holy0040 Ghost4151 it shall0863 not3756 be forgiven0863.
12:11 And1161 when3752 they bring4374 you5209 unto1909 the synagogues4864, and2532 {unto} magistrates0746, and2532 powers1849, take3309 ye no3361 thought3309 how4459 or2228 what thing5101 ye shall answer0626, or2228 what5101 ye shall say2036:
12:12 For1063 the Holy0040 Ghost4151 shall teach1321 you5209 in1722 the same0846 hour5610 what3739 ye ought1163 to say2036.
12:13 And1161 one5100 of1537 the company3793 said2036 unto him0846, Master1320, speak2036 to my3450 brother0080, that he divide3307 the inheritance2817 with3326 me1700.
12:14 And1161 he said2036 unto him0846, Man0444, who5101 made2525 me3165 a judge1348 or2228 a divider3312 over1909 you5209?
12:15 And1161 he said2036 unto4314 them0846, Take heed3708, and2532 beware5442 of0575 covetousness4124: for3754 a man's5100-0846 life2222 consisteth2076 not3756 in1722 the abundance4052 of1537 the things which he0846 possesseth5224.
12:16 And1161 he spake2036 a parable3850 unto4314 them0846, saying3004, The ground5561 of a certain5100 rich4145 man0444 brought forth plentifully2164:
12:17 And2532 he thought1260 within1722 himself1438, saying3004, What5101 shall I do4160, because3754 I have2192 no3756 room where4226 to bestow4863 my3450 fruits2590?
12:18 And2532 he said2036, This5124 will I do4160: I will pull down2507 my3450 barns0596, and2532 build3618 greater3187; and2532 there1563 will I bestow4863 all3956 my3450 fruits1081 and2532 my3450 goods0018.
12:19 And2532 I will say2046 to my3450 soul5590, Soul5590, thou hast2192 much4183 goods0018 laid up2749 for1519 many4183 years2094; take thine ease0373, eat5315, drink4095, {and} be merry2165.
12:20 But1161 God2316 said2036 unto him0846, {Thou} fool0878, this5026 night3571 thy4675 soul5590 shall be required0523 of0575 thee4675: then1161 whose5101 shall those things be2071, which3739 thou hast provided2090?
12:21 So3779 {is} he that layeth up treasure2343 for himself1438, and2532 is4147 not3361 rich4147 toward1519 God2316.
12:22 And1161 he said2036 unto4314 his0846 disciples3101, Therefore1223-5124 I say3004 unto you5213, Take3309 no3361 thought3309 for your5216 life5590, what5101 ye shall eat5315; neither3366 for the body4983, what5101 ye shall put on1746.
12:23 The life5590 is2076 more4119 than meat5160, and2532 the body4983 {is more} than raiment1742.
12:24 Consider2657 the ravens2876: for3754 they neither3756 sow4687 nor3761 reap2325; which3739 neither3756 have2076 storehouse5009 nor3761 barn0596; and2532 God2316 feedeth5142 them0846: how much4214 more3123 are1308 ye5210 better than1308 the fowls4071?
12:25 And1161 which5101 of1537 you5216 with taking thought3309 can1410 add4369 to1909 his0846 stature2244 one1520 cubit4083?
12:26 If1487 ye then3767 be1410 not3777 able to do1410 that thing which is least1646, why5101 take ye thought3309 for4012 the rest3062?
12:27 Consider2657 the lilies2918 how4459 they grow0837: they toil2872 not3756, they spin3514 not3761; and yet1161 I say3004 unto you5213, that Solomon4672 in1722 all3956 his0846 glory1391 was4016 not3761 arrayed4016 like5613 one1520 of these5130.
12:28 If1487 then1161 God2316 so3779 clothe0294 the grass5528, which5607 is to day4594 in1722 the field0068, and2532 to morrow0839 is cast0906 into1519 the oven2823; how much4214 more3123 {will he clothe} you5209, O ye of little faith3640?
12:29 And2532 seek2212 not3361 ye5210 what5101 ye shall eat5315, or2228 what5101 ye shall drink4095-2532, neither3361 be ye of doubtful mind3349.
12:30 For1063 all3956 these things5023 do1934 the nations1484 of the world2889 seek after1934: and1161 your5216 Father3962 knoweth1492 that3754 ye have need5535 of these things5130.
12:31 But rather4133 seek ye2212 the kingdom0932 of God2316; and2532 all3956 these things5023 shall be added4369 unto you5213.
12:32 Fear5399 not3361, little3398 flock4168; for3754 it is2106 your5216 Father's3962 good pleasure2106 to give1325 you5213 the kingdom0932.
12:33 Sell4453 that ye5216 have5224, and2532 give1325 alms1654; provide4160 yourselves1438 bags0905 which wax3822 not3361 old3822, a treasure2344 in1722 the heavens3772 that faileth not0413, where3699 no3756 thief2812 approacheth1448, neither3761 moth4597 corrupteth1311.
12:34 For1063 where3699 your5216 treasure2344 is2076, there1563 will2071 your5216 heart2588 be2071 also2532.
12:35 Let2077 your5216 loins3751 be2077 girded about4024, and2532 {your} lights3088 burning2545;
12:36 And2532 ye yourselves5210 like3664 unto men0444 that wait4327 for their1438 lord2962, when4219 he will return0360 from1537 the wedding1062; that2443 when he cometh2064 and2532 knocketh2925, they may open0455 unto him0846 immediately2112.
12:37 Blessed3107 {are} those1565 servants1401, whom3739 the lord2962 when he cometh2064 shall find2147 watching1127: verily0281 I say3004 unto you5213, that3754 he shall gird himself4024, and2532 make0347 them0846 to sit down to meat0347, and2532 will come forth3928 and serve1247 them0846.
12:38 And2532 if1437 he shall come2064 in1722 the second1208 watch5438, or2532 come2064 in1722 the third5154 watch5438, and2532 find2147 {them} so3779, blessed3107 are1526 those1565 servants1401.
12:39 And1161 this5124 know1097, that3754 if1487 the goodman of the house3617 had known1492 what4169 hour5610 the thief2812 would come2064-0302, he would have watched1127, and2532-0302 not3756 have suffered0863 his0846 house3624 to be broken through1358.
12:40 Be1096 ye5210 therefore3767 ready2092 also2532: for3754-3739 the Son5207 of man0444 cometh2064 at an hour5610 when ye think1380 not3756.
12:41 Then1161 Peter4074 said2036 unto him0846, Lord2962, speakest thou3004 this5026 parable3850 unto4314 us2248, or2228 even2532 to4314 all3956?
12:42 And1161 the Lord2962 said2036, Who5101 then0686 is2076 that faithful4103 and2532 wise5429 steward3623, whom3739 {his} lord2962 shall make ruler2525 over1909 his0846 household2322, to give1325 {them their} portion of meat4620 in1722 due season2540?
12:43 Blessed3107 {is} that1565 servant1401, whom3739 his0846 lord2962 when he cometh2064 shall find2147 so3779 doing4160.
12:44 Of a truth0230 I say3004 unto you5213, that3754 he will make him0846 ruler2525 over1909 all3956 that he0846 hath5224.
12:45 But and1161 if1437 that1565 servant1401 say2036 in1722 his0846 heart2588, My3450 lord2962 delayeth5549 his coming2064; and2532 shall begin0756 to beat5180 the menservants3816 and2532 maidens3814, and5037 to eat2068 and2532 drink4095, and2532 to be drunken3182;

12:47 And1161 that1565 servant1401, which3588 knew1097 his1438 lord's2962 will2307, and2532 prepared2090 not3361 {himself}, neither3366 did4160 according4314 to his0846 will2307, shall be beaten1194 with many4183 {stripes}.
12:48 But1161 he that knew1097 not3361, and1161 did commit4160 things worthy0514 of stripes4127, shall be beaten1194 with few3641 {stripes}. For1161 unto whomsoever3739-3956 much4183 is given1325, of3844 him0846 shall be much4183 required2212: and2532 to whom men3739 have committed3908 much4183, of him0846 they will ask0154 the more4055.
12:49 I am come2064 to send0906 fire4442 on1519 the earth1093; and2532 what5101 will I2309, if1487 it be0381 already2235 kindled0381?
12:50 But1161 I have2192 a baptism0908 to be baptized with0907; and2532 how4459 am I straitened4912 till2193-3739 it be accomplished5055!
12:51 Suppose ye1380 that3754 I am come3854 to give1325 peace1515 on1722 earth1093? I tell3004 you5213, Nay3780; but0235 rather2228 division1267:
12:52 For1063 from0575 henceforth3568 there shall be2071 five4002 in1722 one1520 house3624 divided1266, three5140 against1909 two1417, and2532 two1417 against1909 three5140.
12:53 The father3962 shall be divided1266 against1909 the son5207, and2532 the son5207 against1909 the father3962; the mother3384 against1909 the daughter2364, and2532 the daughter2364 against1909 the mother3384; the mother in law3994 against1909 her0846 daughter in law3565, and2532 the daughter in law3565 against1909 her0846 mother in law3994.
12:54 And1161 he said3004 also2532 to the people3793, When3752 ye see1492 a cloud3507 rise0393 out of0575 the west1424, straightway2112 ye say3004, There cometh2064 a shower3655; and2532 so3779 it is1096.
12:55 And2532 when3752 {ye see} the south wind3558 blow4154, ye say3004-3754, There will be2071 heat2742; and2532 it cometh to pass1096.
12:56 {Ye} hypocrites5273, ye can1492 discern1381 the face4383 of the sky3772 and2532 of the earth1093; but1161 how is it4459 that ye do not3756 discern1381 this5126 time2540?
12:57 Yea1161, and why5101 even2532 of0575 yourselves1438 judge ye2919 not3756 what is right1342?
12:58 When5613-1063 thou goest5217 with3326 thine4675 adversary0476 to1909 the magistrate0758, {as thou art} in1722 the way3598, give1325 diligence2039 that thou mayest be delivered0525 from0575 him0846; lest3379 he hale2694 thee4571 to4314 the judge2923, and2532 the judge2923 deliver3860 thee4571 to the officer4233, and2532 the officer4233 cast0906 thee4571 into1519 prison5438.
12:59 I tell3004 thee4671, thou shalt1831 not3364 depart1831 thence1564-2532, till2193-3739 thou hast paid0591 the very last2078 mite3016.
