23:2 Saying3004, The scribes1122 and2532 the Pharisees5330 sit2523 in1909 Moses'3475 seat2515:
23:3 All3956 therefore3767 whatsoever0302-3745 they bid2036 you5213 observe5083, {that} observe5083 and2532 do4160; but1161 do4160 not3361 ye after2596 their0846 works2041: for1063 they say3004, and2532 do4160 not3756.
23:4 For1063 they bind1195 heavy0926 burdens5413 and2532 grievous to be borne1419, and2532 lay2007 {them} on1909 men's0444 shoulders5606; but1161 they {themselves} will2309 not3756 move2795 them0846 with one of their0846 fingers1147.
23:5 But1161 all3956 their0846 works2041 they do4160 for4314 to be seen2300 of men0444-1161: they make broad4115 their0846 phylacteries5440, and2532 enlarge3170 the borders2899 of their0846 garments2440,

23:8 But1161 be2564 not3361 ye5210 called2564 Rabbi4461: for1063 one1520 is2076 your5216 Master2519, {even} Christ5547; and1161 all3956 ye5210 are2075 brethren0080.
23:9 And2532 call2564 no3361 {man} your5216 father3962 upon1909 the earth1093: for1063 one1520 is2076 your5216 Father3962, which3588 is in1722 heaven3772.
23:10 Neither3366 be ye called2564 masters2519: for1063 one1520 is2076 your5216 Master2519, {even} Christ5547.
23:11 But1161 he that is greatest3187 among you5216 shall be2071 your5216 servant1249.
23:12 And1161 whosoever3748 shall exalt5312 himself1438 shall be abased5013; and2532 he3748 that shall humble5013 himself1438 shall be exalted5312.
23:13 But1161 woe3759 unto you5213, scribes1122 and2532 Pharisees5330, hypocrites5273! for3754 ye shut up2808 the kingdom0932 of heaven3772 against1715 men0444: for1063 ye5210 neither3761 go in1525 {yourselves}, neither3756 suffer ye0863 them that are entering1525 to go in1525.
23:14 Woe3759 unto you5213, scribes1122 and2532 Pharisees5330, hypocrites5273! for3754 ye devour2719 widows'5503 houses3614, and2532 for a pretence4392 make4336 long3117 prayer4336: therefore1223-5124 ye shall receive2983 the greater4055 damnation2917.

23:16 Woe3759 unto you5213, {ye} blind5185 guides3595, which3588 say3004, Whosoever3739-0302 shall swear3660 by1722 the temple3485, it is2076 nothing3762; but1161 whosoever3739-0302 shall swear3660 by1722 the gold5557 of the temple3485, he is a debtor3784!
23:17 {Ye} fools3474 and2532 blind5185: for1063 whether5101 is2076 greater3187, the gold5557, or2228 the temple3485 that sanctifieth0037 the gold5557?
23:18 And2532, Whosoever3739-1437 shall swear3660 by1722 the altar2379, it is2076 nothing3762; but1161 whosoever3739-0302 sweareth3660 by1722 the gift1435 that is upon1883 it0846, he is guilty3784.
23:19 {Ye} fools3474 and2532 blind5185: for1063 whether5101 {is} greater3187, the gift1435, or2228 the altar2379 that sanctifieth0037 the gift1435?
23:20 Whoso therefore3767 shall swear3660 by1722 the altar2379, sweareth3660 by1722 it0846, and2532 by1722 all things3956 thereon1883-0846.
23:21 And2532 whoso shall swear3660 by1722 the temple3485, sweareth3660 by1722 it0846, and2532 by1722 him that dwelleth2730 therein0846.
23:22 And2532 he that shall swear3660 by1722 heaven3772, sweareth3660 by1722 the throne2362 of God2316, and2532 by1722 him that sitteth2521 thereon1883-0846.
23:23 Woe3759 unto you5213, scribes1122 and2532 Pharisees5330, hypocrites5273! for3754 ye pay tithe0586 of mint2238 and2532 anise0432 and2532 cummin2951, and2532 have omitted0863 the weightier0926 {matters} of the law3551, judgment2920-2532, mercy1656, and2532 faith4102: these5023 ought ye1163 to have done4160, and not3361 to leave0863 the other2548 undone0863.
23:24 {Ye} blind5185 guides3595, which strain at1368 a gnat2971, and1161 swallow2666 a camel2574.
23:25 Woe3759 unto you5213, scribes1122 and2532 Pharisees5330, hypocrites5273! for3754 ye make clean2511 the outside1855 of the cup4221 and2532 of the platter3953, but1161 within2081 they are full1073 of1537 extortion0724 and2532 excess0192.
23:26 {Thou} blind5185 Pharisee5330, cleanse2511 first4412 that {which is} within1787 the cup4221 and2532 platter3953, that2443 the outside1622 of them0846 may be1096 clean2513 also2532.

23:29 Woe3759 unto you5213, scribes1122 and2532 Pharisees5330, hypocrites5273! because3754 ye build3618 the tombs5028 of the prophets4396, and2532 garnish2885 the sepulchres3419 of the righteous1342,
23:30 And2532 say3004, If1487 we had been2258 in1722 the days2250 of our2257 fathers3962, we would0302 not3756 have been2258 partakers2844 with them0846 in1722 the blood0129 of the prophets4396.
