and Hoshea1954 became his servant5650, and gave7725 him presents4503. 17:4 And the king4428 of Assyria0804 found4672 conspiracy7195 in Hoshea1954: for he had sent7971 messengers4397 to So5471 king4428 of Egypt4714, and brought5927 no present4503 to the king4428 of Assyria0804, as {he had done} year8141 by year8141: therefore the king4428 of Assyria0804 shut him up6113, and bound0631 him in prison1004-3608. 17:5 Then the king4428 of Assyria0804 came up5927 throughout all the land0776, and went up5927 to Samaria8111, and besieged6696 it three7969 years8141. 17:6 In the ninth8671 year8141 of Hoshea1954 the king4428 of Assyria0804 took3920 Samaria8111, and carried1540 Israel3478 away1540 into Assyria0804, and placed3427 them in Halah2477 and in Habor2249 {by} the river5104 of Gozan1470, and in the cities5892 of the Medes4074. 17:7 For {so} it was, that the children1121 of Israel3478 had sinned2398 against the LORD3068 their God0430, which had brought them up5927 out of the land0776 of Egypt4714, from under the hand3027 of Pharaoh6547 king4428 of Egypt4714, and had feared3372 other0312 gods0430, 17:8 And walked3212 in the statutes2708 of the heathen1471, whom the LORD3068 cast out3423 from before6440 the children1121 of Israel3478, and of the kings4428 of Israel3478, which they had made6213. 17:9 And the children1121 of Israel3478 did secretly2644 {those} things1697 that {were} not right against the LORD3068 their God0430, and they built1129 them high places1116 in all their cities5892, from the tower4026 of the watchmen5341 to the fenced4013 city5892. 17:10 And they set them up5324 images4676 and groves0842 in every high1364 hill1389, and under every green7488 tree6086: 17:11 And there they burnt incense6999 in all the high places1116, as {did} the heathen1471 whom the LORD3068 carried away1540 before6440 them; and they followed3212-0310 vanity1892, and became vain1891, and went after0310 the heathen1471 that {were} round about5439 them, {concerning} whom the LORD3068 had charged6680 them, that they should not do6213 like them. 17:16 And they left5800 all the commandments4687 of the LORD3068 their God0430, and made6213 them molten images4541, {even} two8147 calves5695, and made6213 a grove0842, and worshipped7812 all the host6635 of heaven8064, and served5647 Baal1168. 17:17 And they caused their sons1121 and their daughters1323 to pass5674 through the fire0784, and used7080 divination7081 and enchantments5172, and sold4376 themselves to do6213 evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068, to provoke him to anger3707. 17:18 Therefore the LORD3068 was very3966 angry0599 with Israel3478, and removed5493 them out of his sight6440: there was none left7604 but the tribe7626 of Judah3063 only. 17:19 Also Judah3063 kept8104 not the commandments4687 of the LORD3068 their God0430, but walked3212 in the statutes2708 of Israel3478 which they made6213. 17:20 And the LORD3068 rejected3988 all the seed2233 of Israel3478, and afflicted6031 them, and delivered5414 them into the hand3027 of spoilers8154, until he had cast7993 them out of his sight6440. 17:21 For he rent7167 Israel3478 from the house1004 of David1732; and they made Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Nebat5028 king4427: and Jeroboam3379 drave5080-5077 Israel3478 from following0310 the LORD3068, and made them sin2398 a great1419 sin2401. 17:22 For the children1121 of Israel3478 walked3212 in all the sins2403 of Jeroboam3379 which he did6213;
