「超過平常的數目」或「大小的」。
一、「非常的，非凡的」。用於不尋常的事，τί περισσὸν ποιεῖτε 比人有什麼長處呢， 太5:47 。實名詞：τὸ περισόν 長處。τὸ περισσὸν τοῦ Ἰουδαίου 猶太人的長處， 太3:1 。

二、「豐盛的，過多的」。
A. 超過所需要的περισσὸν ἔχιν得很豐盛的東西， 太10:10 。

B. 「多餘的，不必要的」，περισσόν μοί ἐστιν τὸ γράφειν ὑμῖν我不必寫給你們， 太9:1 。
