一、一般用法：路16:6 。与酒和细面同用（参申7:13 申11:14 申28:51 代下31:5 结16:19 等）启18:13 。用于灯，太25:3,4,8 。作疗伤用之药物（赛1:6 ）路10:34 ，及其他医疗用，可6:13 雅5:14 （见ἀλείφω－SG218）。

二、特别指膏抹用的油，路7:46 （参王下9:6 诗23:5 ）。喻意： ἔχρισέν σε ὁ θεὸς ἔ. ἀγαλλιάσεως 神用喜乐油膏你，来1:9 （诗45:7 ）。

三、指成果之起源：「橄榄园」τὸ ἔ. καὶ τὸν οἶνον μὴ ἀδικήσῃς橄榄园和葡萄园不可蹧蹋，启6:6 另译。*
