31:1 Woe1945 to them that go down3381 to Egypt4714 for help5833; and stay8172 on horses5483, and trust0982 in chariots7393, because {they are} many7227; and in horsemen6571, because they are very3966 strong6105; but they look8159 not unto the Holy One6918 of Israel3478, neither seek1875 the LORD3068!
31:2 Yet he also {is} wise2450, and will bring0935 evil7451, and will not call back5493 his words1697: but will arise6965 against the house1004 of the evildoers7489, and against the help5833 of them that work6466 iniquity0205.
31:3 Now the Egyptians4714 {are} men0120, and not God0410; and their horses5483 flesh1320, and not spirit7307. When the LORD3068 shall stretch out5186 his hand3027, both he that helpeth5826 shall fall3782, and he that is holpen5826 shall fall down5307, and they all shall fail3615 together3162.
31:4 For thus hath the LORD3068 spoken0559 unto me, Like as the lion0738 and the young lion3715 roaring1897 on his prey2964, when a multitude4393 of shepherds7462 is called forth7121 against him, {he} will not be afraid2865 of their voice6963, nor abase6031 himself for the noise1995 of them: so shall the LORD3068 of hosts6635 come down3381 to fight6633 for mount2022 Zion6726, and for the hill1389 thereof.
31:5 As birds6833 flying5774, so will the LORD3068 of hosts6635 defend1598 Jerusalem3389; defending1598 also he will deliver5337 {it; and} passing over6452 he will preserve4422 it.
31:6 Turn7725 ye unto {him from} whom the children1121 of Israel3478 have deeply6009 revolted5627.
31:7 For in that day3117 every man0376 shall cast away3988 his idols0457 of silver3701, and his idols0457 of gold2091, which your own hands3027 have made6213 unto you {for} a sin2399.
31:8 Then shall the Assyrian0804 fall5307 with the sword2719, not of a mighty man0376; and the sword2719, not of a mean man0120, shall devour0398 him: but he shall flee5127 from6440 the sword2719, and his young men0970 shall be discomfited4522.
31:9 And he shall pass over5674 to his strong hold5553 for fear4032, and his princes8269 shall be afraid2865 of the ensign5251, saith5002 the LORD3068, whose fire0217 {is} in Zion6726, and his furnace8574 in Jerusalem3389.
