17:1 The burden4853 of Damascus1834. Behold, Damascus1834 is taken away5493 from {being} a city5892, and it shall be a ruinous4654 heap4596.
17:2 The cities5892 of Aroer6177 {are} forsaken5800: they shall be for flocks5739, which shall lie down7257, and none shall make {them} afraid2729.
17:3 The fortress4013 also shall cease7673 from Ephraim0669, and the kingdom4467 from Damascus1834, and the remnant7605 of Syria0758: they shall be as the glory3519 of the children1121 of Israel3478, saith5002 the LORD3068 of hosts6635.
17:4 And in that day3117 it shall come to pass, {that} the glory3519 of Jacob3290 shall be made thin1809, and the fatness4924 of his flesh1320 shall wax lean7329.
17:5 And it shall be as when the harvestman7105 gathereth0622 the corn7054, and reapeth7114 the ears7641 with his arm2220; and it shall be as he that gathereth3950 ears7641 in the valley6010 of Rephaim7497.
