很少用单数（在七十士中并不普遍）。「同情，怜悯，侧隐之心」。ἐνδύσασθαι σπλάγχνα οἰκτιρμοῦ （性质所有格）穿上怜悯的心肠，※ 西3:12 。几乎全是复数，部份是为了将抽象的概念用实体表达，主要是受希伯来复数רַחֲמִים影响，而与单数的意义没有差别（ 撒下24:14 诗25:6 赛63:15 ）此用法相当普遍：χωρὶς οἰκτιρμῶν得不到怜悯，⊙ 来10:28 。指人一带σπλάγχνα慈悲（重名法） 腓2:1 。指神－（ 诗25:6 腓40:11 。οἰκ. τοῦ θεοῦ 神的慈悲， 罗12:1 。神是πατὴρ τῶν οἰκ.慈悲的父， 林后1:3 。* |
