27:1 And David1732 said0559 in his heart3820, I shall now perish5595 one0259 day3117 by the hand3027 of Saul7586: {there is} nothing better2896 for me than that3588 I should speedily4422 escape4422 into the land0776 of the Philistines6430; and Saul7586 shall despair2976 of me, to seek1245 me any more in any coast1366 of Israel3478: so shall I escape4422 out of his hand3027.
27:2 And David1732 arose6965, and he passed over5674 with the six8337 hundred3967 men0376 that {were} with him unto Achish0397, the son1121 of Maoch4582, king4428 of Gath1661.
27:3 And David1732 dwelt3427 with Achish0397 at Gath1661, he and his men0582, every man0376 with his household1004, {even} David1732 with his two8147 wives0802, Ahinoam0293 the Jezreelitess3159, and Abigail0026 the Carmelitess3762, Nabal's5037 wife0802.
27:4 And it was told5046 Saul7586 that David1732 was fled1272 to Gath1661: and he sought1245 no more again3254-3254 for him.
27:5 And David1732 said0559 unto Achish0397, If I have now found4672 grace2580 in thine eyes5869, let them give5414 me a place4725 in some0259 town5892 in the country7704, that I may dwell3427 there: for why should thy servant5650 dwell3427 in the royal4467 city5892 with thee?
27:6 Then Achish0397 gave5414 him Ziklag6860 that day3117: wherefore Ziklag6860 pertaineth unto the kings4428 of Judah3063 unto this day3117.
27:7 And the time4557-3117 that David1732 dwelt3427 in the country7704 of the Philistines6430 was a full year3117 and four0702 months2320.
27:8 And David1732 and his men0582 went up5927, and invaded6584 the Geshurites1651, and the Gezrites1511, and the Amalekites6003: for those2007 {nations were} of old5769 the inhabitants3427 of the land0776, as thou goest0935 to Shur7793, even unto the land0776 of Egypt4714.

27:12 And Achish0397 believed0539 David1732, saying0559, He hath made his people5971 Israel3478 utterly0887 to abhor0887 him; therefore he shall be my servant5650 for ever5769.
