二、依照一种习惯，视ἀ.和δόξα为同义字，在旧约（ 赛42:8,12 ）外应有并列两观念者（ 彼后1:3 ），七十士翻译הוֹד荣耀（ 哈3:3 亚6:13 ）和תְּהִלָּה 称赞（以赛亚书）作ἀ.，后者（复数为赞赏之意）应是 彼前2:9 的正确意义，这可能是受 赛42:12 赛43:21 的影响，但也可能是另外的意义。
