43:2 Then spake0559 Azariah5838 the son1121 of Hoshaiah1955, and Johanan3110 the son1121 of Kareah7143, and all the proud2086 men0582, saying0559 unto Jeremiah3414, Thou speakest1696 falsely8267: the LORD3068 our God0430 hath not sent7971 thee to say0559, Go0935 not into Egypt4714 to sojourn1481 there:
43:3 But Baruch1263 the son1121 of Neriah5374 setteth thee on5496 against us, for to4616 deliver5414 us into the hand3027 of the Chaldeans3778, that they might put us to death4191, and carry us away captives1540 into Babylon0894.
43:4 So Johanan3110 the son1121 of Kareah7143, and all the captains8269 of the forces2428, and all the people5971, obeyed8085 not the voice6963 of the LORD3068, to dwell3427 in the land0776 of Judah3063.
43:5 But Johanan3110 the son1121 of Kareah7143, and all the captains8269 of the forces2428, took3947 all the remnant7611 of Judah3063, that were returned7725 from all nations1471, whither they had been driven5080, to dwell1481 in the land0776 of Judah3063;
43:6 {Even} men1397, and women0802, and children2945, and the king's4428 daughters1323, and every person5315 that Nebuzaradan5018 the captain7227 of the guard2876 had left3240 with Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam0296 the son1121 of Shaphan8227, and Jeremiah3414 the prophet5030, and Baruch1263 the son1121 of Neriah5374.
43:7 So they came0935 into the land0776 of Egypt4714: for they obeyed8085 not the voice6963 of the LORD3068: thus came0935 they {even} to Tahpanhes8471.
43:8 Then came the word1697 of the LORD3068 unto Jeremiah3414 in Tahpanhes8471, saying0559,
43:9 Take3947 great1419 stones0068 in thine hand3027, and hide2934 them in the clay4423 in the brickkiln4404, which {is} at the entry6607 of Pharaoh's6547 house1004 in Tahpanhes8471, in the sight5869 of the men0582 of Judah3064;
43:10 And say0559 unto them, Thus saith0559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635, the God0430 of Israel3478; Behold, I will send7971 and take3947 Nebuchadrezzar5019 the king4428 of Babylon0894, my servant5650, and will set7760 his throne3678 upon4605 these stones0068 that I have hid2934; and he shall spread5186 his royal pavilion8237 over them.
43:11 And when he cometh0935, he shall smite5221 the land0776 of Egypt4714, {and deliver} such {as are} for death4194 to death4194; and such {as are} for captivity7628 to captivity7628; and such {as are} for the sword2719 to the sword2719.
43:12 And I will kindle3341 a fire0784 in the houses1004 of the gods0430 of Egypt4714; and he shall burn8313 them, and carry them away captives7617: and he shall array5844 himself with the land0776 of Egypt4714, as a shepherd7462 putteth on5844 his garment0899; and he shall go forth3318 from thence in peace7965.
43:13 He shall break7665 also the images4676 of Bethshemesh1053, that {is} in the land0776 of Egypt4714; and the houses1004 of the gods0430 of the Egyptians4714 shall he burn8313 with fire0784.
