24:1 The LORD3068 shewed7200 me, and, behold, two8147 baskets1736 of figs8384 {were} set3259 before6440 the temple1964 of the LORD3068, after0310 that Nebuchadrezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon0894 had carried away captive1540 Jeconiah3204 the son1121 of Jehoiakim3079 king4428 of Judah3063, and the princes8269 of Judah3063, with the carpenters2796 and smiths4525, from Jerusalem3389, and had brought0935 them to Babylon0894.
24:2 One0259 basket1731 {had} very3966 good2896 figs8384, {even} like the figs8384 {that are} first ripe1073: and the other0259 basket1731 {had} very3966 naughty7451 figs8384, which could not be eaten0398, they were so bad7455.
24:3 Then said0559 the LORD3068 unto me, What seest7200 thou, Jeremiah3414? And I said0559, Figs8384; the good2896 figs8384, very3966 good2896; and the evil7451, very3966 evil7451, that cannot be eaten0398, they are so evil7455.
24:4 Again the word1697 of the LORD3068 came unto me, saying0559,
24:5 Thus saith0559 the LORD3068, the God0430 of Israel3478; Like these good2896 figs8384, so will I acknowledge5234 them that are carried away captive1546 of Judah3063, whom I have sent7971 out of this place4725 into the land0776 of the Chaldeans3778 for {their} good2896.
24:6 For I will set7760 mine eyes5869 upon them for good2896, and I will bring them again7725 to this land0776: and I will build1129 them, and not pull {them} down2040; and I will plant5193 them, and not pluck {them} up5428.
24:7 And I will give5414 them an heart3820 to know3045 me, that I {am} the LORD3068: and they shall be my people5971, and I will be their God0430: for they shall return7725 unto me with their whole heart3820.
24:8 And as the evil7451 figs8384, which cannot be eaten0398, they are so evil7455; surely thus saith0559 the LORD3068, So will I give5414 Zedekiah6667 the king4428 of Judah3063, and his princes8269, and the residue7611 of Jerusalem3389, that remain7604 in this land0776, and them that dwell3427 in the land0776 of Egypt4714:
24:9 And I will deliver5414 them to be removed2189-2113 into all the kingdoms4467 of the earth0776 for {their} hurt7451, {to be} a reproach2781 and a proverb4912, a taunt8148 and a curse7045, in all places4725 whither I shall drive5080 them.
24:10 And I will send7971 the sword2719, the famine7458, and the pestilence1698, among them, till they be consumed8552 from off the land0127 that I gave5414 unto them and to their fathers0001.
