28:1 And it came to pass the same year8141, in the beginning7225 of the reign4467 of Zedekiah6667 king4428 of Judah3063, in the fourth7243 year8141, {and} in the fifth2549 month2320, {that} Hananiah2608 the son1121 of Azur5809 the prophet5030, which {was} of Gibeon1391, spake0559 unto me in the house1004 of the LORD3068, in the presence5869 of the priests3548 and of all the people5971, saying0559,
28:2 Thus speaketh0559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635, the God0430 of Israel3478, saying0559, I have broken7665 the yoke5923 of the king4428 of Babylon0894.
28:3 Within two full3117 years8141 will I bring again7725 into this place4725 all the vessels3627 of the LORD'S3068 house1004, that Nebuchadnezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon0894 took away3947 from this place4725, and carried0935 them to Babylon0894:
28:4 And I will bring again7725 to this place4725 Jeconiah3204 the son1121 of Jehoiakim3079 king4428 of Judah3063, with all the captives1546 of Judah3063, that went0935 into Babylon0894, saith5002 the LORD3068: for I will break7665 the yoke5923 of the king4428 of Babylon0894.
28:5 Then the prophet5030 Jeremiah3414 said0559 unto the prophet5030 Hananiah2608 in the presence5869 of the priests3548, and in the presence5869 of all the people5971 that stood5975 in the house1004 of the LORD3068,
28:6 Even the prophet5030 Jeremiah3414 said0559, Amen0543: the LORD3068 do6213 so: the LORD3068 perform6965 thy words1697 which thou hast prophesied5012, to bring again7725 the vessels3627 of the LORD'S3068 house1004, and all that is carried away captive1473, from Babylon0894 into this place4725.
28:7 Nevertheless hear8085 thou now this word1697 that I speak1696 in thine ears0241, and in the ears0241 of all the people5971;
28:8 The prophets5030 that have been before6440 me and before6440 thee of old5769 prophesied5012 both against many7227 countries0776, and against great1419 kingdoms4467, of war4421, and of evil7451, and of pestilence1698.
28:9 The prophet5030 which prophesieth5012 of peace7965, when the word1697 of the prophet5030 shall come to pass0935, {then}0227 shall the prophet5030 be known3045, that the LORD3068 hath truly0571 sent7971 him.
28:10 Then Hananiah2608 the prophet5030 took3947 the yoke4133 from off the prophet5030 Jeremiah's3414 neck6677, and brake7665 it.
28:11 And Hananiah2608 spake0559 in the presence5869 of all the people5971, saying0559, Thus saith0559 the LORD3068; Even so will I break7665 the yoke5923 of Nebuchadnezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon0894 from the neck6677 of all nations1471 within the space of two full3117 years8141. And the prophet5030 Jeremiah3414 went3212 his way1870.
28:12 Then the word1697 of the LORD3068 came unto Jeremiah3414 {the prophet}, after0310 that Hananiah2608 the prophet5030 had broken7665 the yoke4133 from off the neck6677 of the prophet5030 Jeremiah3414, saying0559,
28:13 Go1980 and tell0559 Hananiah2608, saying0559, Thus saith0559 the LORD3068; Thou hast broken7665 the yokes4133 of wood6086; but thou shalt make6213 for them yokes4133 of iron1270.
28:14 For thus saith0559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635, the God0430 of Israel3478; I have put5414 a yoke5923 of iron1270 upon the neck6677 of all these nations1471, that they may serve5647 Nebuchadnezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon0894; and they shall serve5647 him: and I have given5414 him the beasts2416 of the field7704 also.
28:15 Then said0559 the prophet5030 Jeremiah3414 unto Hananiah2608 the prophet5030, Hear8085 now, Hananiah2608; The LORD3068 hath not sent7971 thee; but thou makest this people5971 to trust0982 in a lie8267.
28:16 Therefore thus saith0559 the LORD3068; Behold, I will cast7971 thee from off the face6440 of the earth0127: this year8141 thou shalt die4191, because thou hast taught1696 rebellion5627 against the LORD3068.
28:17 So Hananiah2608 the prophet5030 died4191 the same year8141 in the seventh7637 month2320.
