16:2 Forasmuch as I exalted7311 thee out of the dust6083, and made5414 thee prince5057 over my people5971 Israel3478; and thou hast walked3212 in the way1870 of Jeroboam3379, and hast made my people5971 Israel3478 to sin2398, to provoke me to anger3707 with their sins2403;
16:3 Behold, I will take away1197 the posterity0310 of Baasha1201, and the posterity0310 of his house1004; and will make5414 thy house1004 like the house1004 of Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Nebat5028.
16:4 Him that dieth4191 of Baasha1201 in the city5892 shall the dogs3611 eat0398; and him that dieth4191 of his in the fields7704 shall the fowls5775 of the air8064 eat0398.
16:5 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Baasha1201, and what he did6213, and his might1369, {are} they not written3789 in the book5612 of the chronicles1697-3117 of the kings4428 of Israel3478?
16:6 So Baasha1201 slept7901 with his fathers0001, and was buried6912 in Tirzah8656: and Elah0425 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.
16:7 And also by the hand3027 of the prophet5030 Jehu3058 the son1121 of Hanani2607 came the word1697 of the LORD3068 against Baasha1201, and against his house1004, even for all the evil7451 that he did6213 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068, in provoking him to anger3707 with the work4639 of his hands3027, in being like the house1004 of Jeroboam3379; and because he killed5221 him.
16:8 In the twenty6242-8141 and sixth8337 year8141 of Asa0609 king4428 of Judah3063 began Elah0425 the son1121 of Baasha1201 to reign4427 over Israel3478 in Tirzah8656, two years8141.
16:9 And his servant5650 Zimri2174, captain8269 of half4276 {his} chariots7393, conspired7194 against him, as he was in Tirzah8656, drinking8354 himself drunk7910 in the house1004 of Arza0777 steward of {his} house1004 in Tirzah8656.
16:10 And Zimri2174 went in0935 and smote5221 him, and killed4191 him, in the twenty6242 and seventh7651 year8141 of Asa0609 king4428 of Judah3063, and reigned4427 in his stead.
16:11 And it came to pass, when he began to reign4427, as soon as he sat3427 on his throne3678, {that} he slew5221 all the house1004 of Baasha1201: he left7604 him not one that pisseth8366 against a wall7023, neither of his kinsfolks1350, nor of his friends7453.
16:12 Thus did Zimri2174 destroy8045 all the house1004 of Baasha1201, according to the word1697 of the LORD3068, which he spake1696 against Baasha1201 by3027 Jehu3058 the prophet5030,
16:13 For all the sins2403 of Baasha1201, and the sins2403 of Elah0425 his son1121, by which they sinned2398, and by which they made Israel3478 to sin2398, in provoking the LORD3068 God0430 of Israel3478 to anger3707 with their vanities1892.

16:15 In the twenty6242-8141 and seventh7651 year8141 of Asa0609 king4428 of Judah3063 did Zimri2174 reign4427 seven7651 days3117 in Tirzah8656. And the people5971 {were} encamped2583 against Gibbethon1405, which {belonged} to the Philistines6430.
16:16 And the people5971 {that were} encamped2583 heard8085 say0559, Zimri2174 hath conspired7194, and hath also slain5221 the king4428: wherefore all Israel3478 made Omri6018, the captain8269 of the host6635, king4427 over Israel3478 that day3117 in the camp4264.

16:18 And it came to pass, when Zimri2174 saw7200 that the city5892 was taken3920, that he went0935 into the palace0759 of the king's4428 house1004, and burnt8313 the king's4428 house1004 over him with fire0784, and died4191,

16:20 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Zimri2174, and his treason7195 that he wrought7194, {are} they not written3789 in the book5612 of the chronicles1697-3117 of the kings4428 of Israel3478?
16:21 Then were the people5971 of Israel3478 divided2505 into two parts2677: half2677 of the people5971 followed1961-0310 Tibni8402 the son1121 of Ginath1527, to make him king4427; and half2677 followed0310 Omri6018.
16:22 But the people5971 that followed0310 Omri6018 prevailed2388 against0854 the people5971 that followed0310 Tibni8402 the son1121 of Ginath1527: so Tibni8402 died4191, and Omri6018 reigned4427.
16:23 In the thirty7970-8141 and first0259 year8141 of Asa0609 king4428 of Judah3063 began Omri6018 to reign4427 over Israel3478, twelve8147-6240 years8141: six8337 years8141 reigned4427 he in Tirzah8656.
16:24 And he bought7069 the hill2022 Samaria8111 of Shemer8106 for two talents3603 of silver3701, and built1129 on the hill2022, and called7121 the name8034 of the city5892 which he built1129, after the name8034 of Shemer8106, owner0113 of the hill2022, Samaria8111.
