13:1 And the LORD3068 spake1696 unto Moses4872, saying0559,
13:2 Send7971 thou men0582, that they may search8446 the land0776 of Canaan3667, which I give5414 unto the children1121 of Israel3478: of every0376 tribe4294 of their fathers0001 shall ye send7971 a man0259, every one a ruler5387 among them.
13:3 And Moses4872 by the commandment6310 of the LORD3068 sent7971 them from the wilderness4057 of Paran6290: all those men0582 {were}1992 heads7218 of the children1121 of Israel3478.
13:4 And these {were} their names8034: of the tribe4294 of Reuben7205, Shammua8051 the son1121 of Zaccur2139.
13:5 Of the tribe4294 of Simeon8095, Shaphat8202 the son1121 of Hori2753.
13:6 Of the tribe4294 of Judah3063, Caleb3612 the son1121 of Jephunneh3312.

13:18 And see7200 the land0776, what it {is}; and the people5971 that dwelleth3427 therein, whether they {be} strong2389 or weak7504, few4592 or many7227;
13:19 And what the land0776 {is} that they dwell in3427, whether it {be} good2896 or bad7451; and what cities5892 {they be} that they dwell3427 in2007, whether in tents4264, or in strong holds4013;
13:20 And what the land0776 {is}, whether it {be} fat8082 or lean7330, whether there be3426 wood6086 therein, or not. And be ye of good courage2388, and bring3947 of the fruit6529 of the land0776. Now the time3117 {was} the time3117 of the firstripe1061 grapes6025.
13:21 So they went up5927, and searched8446 the land0776 from the wilderness4057 of Zin6790 unto Rehob7340, as men come0935 to Hamath2574.
13:22 And they ascended5927 by the south5045, and came0935 unto Hebron2275; where Ahiman0289, Sheshai8344, and Talmai8526, the children3211 of Anak6061, {were}. (Now Hebron2275 was built1129 seven7651 years8141 before6440 Zoan6814 in Egypt4714.)
13:23 And they came0935 unto the brook5158 of Eshcol0812, and cut down3772 from thence a branch2156 with one0259 cluster0811 of grapes6025, and they bare5375 it between two8147 upon a staff4132; and {they brought} of the pomegranates7416, and of the figs8384.
13:24 The place4725 was called7121 the brook5158 Eshcol0812, because of0182 the cluster of grapes0811 which the children1121 of Israel3478 cut down3772 from thence.
13:25 And they returned7725 from searching8446 of the land0776 after7093 forty0705 days3117.
13:26 And they went3212 and came0935 to Moses4872, and to Aaron0175, and to all the congregation5712 of the children1121 of Israel3478, unto the wilderness4057 of Paran6290, to Kadesh6946; and brought back7725 word1697 unto them, and unto all the congregation5712, and shewed7200 them the fruit6529 of the land0776.
13:27 And they told5608 him, and said0559, We came0935 unto the land0776 whither thou sentest7971 us, and surely it floweth2100 with milk2461 and honey1706; and this {is} the fruit6529 of it.
13:28 Nevertheless0657 the people5971 {be} strong5794 that dwell3427 in the land0776, and the cities5892 {are} walled1219, {and} very3966 great1419: and moreover we saw7200 the children3211 of Anak6061 there.
13:29 The Amalekites6002 dwell3427 in the land0776 of the south5045: and the Hittites2850, and the Jebusites2983, and the Amorites0567, dwell3427 in the mountains2022: and the Canaanites3669 dwell3427 by the sea3220, and by the coast3027 of Jordan3383.
13:30 And Caleb3612 stilled2013 the people5971 before Moses4872, and said0559, Let us go up5927 at once5927, and possess3423 it; for we are well able3201 to overcome3201 it.
13:31 But the men0582 that went up5927 with him said0559, We be not able3201 to go up5927 against the people5971; for they {are} stronger2389 than we.
13:32 And they brought up3318 an evil report1681 of the land0776 which they had searched8446 unto the children1121 of Israel3478, saying0559, The land0776, through which we have gone5674 to search8446 it, {is} a land0776 that eateth up0398 the inhabitants3427 thereof; and all the people5971 that we saw7200 in it8432 {are} men0582 of a great stature4060.
13:33 And there we saw7200 the giants5303, the sons1121 of Anak6061, {which come} of the giants5303: and we were in our own sight5869 as grasshoppers2284, and so we were in their sight5869.
