（七十士译）「低的」。新约只作喻意用法。
一、用于地位，权力及尊重，「 低位的， 为穷的， 卑微的， 无名的， 不重要的」（ 撒上18:23 ）ὁ ἀδελφὸς ὁ ταπ. 卑微的弟兄（反于πλούσιος富有的） 雅1:9 。实名词，复数（ 番2:3 赛11:4 赛14:32 ） 路1:52 （反于δυνάσται有权柄的）。ὁ παρακαλῶν τοὺς ταπεινοὺς安慰 丧气之人， 林后7:6 （ 赛49:13 ）。关于τοῖς ταπεινοῖς συναπαγόμενοι俯就 卑微的人， 罗12:16 ，参συναπάγω－SG4879。
二、用于情绪状况及思想方式： A. 负面之意义，「 易曲折的， 奉承的， 卑劣的」，保罗之敌对者对他的评语，κατὰ πρόσωπον μὲν ταπεινὸς见面的时候是 过于谦卑的， 林后10:1 。 B. 正面的意义，「 谦卑的， 谦虚的」（七十士译）ταπεινὸς τῇ καρδίᾳ心里（柔和） 谦卑（与πραΰς柔和同用，见SG4235） 太11:29 。反于ὑπερήφανοι骄傲（依 箴3:34 ）， 雅4:6 彼前5:5 。* |
