4:1 And Adam0120 knew3045-0853 Eve2332 his wife0802; and she conceived2029, and bare3205-0853 Cain7014, and said0559, I have gotten7069 a man0376 from0854 the LORD3068.
4:2 And she again3254 bare3205 his brother0251 Abel1893. And Abel1893 was a keeper7462 of sheep6629, but Cain7014 was a tiller5647 of the ground0127.
4:3 And in process7093 of time3117 it came to pass, that Cain7014 brought0935 of the fruit6529 of the ground0127 an offering4503 unto the LORD3068.
4:4 And Abel1893, he1931 also brought0935 of the firstlings1062 of his flock6629 and of the fat2459 thereof. And the LORD3068 had respect8159 unto Abel1893 and to his offering4503:
4:5 But unto Cain7014 and to his offering4503 he had not respect8159. And Cain7014 was very3966 wroth2734, and his countenance6440 fell5307.
4:6 And the LORD3068 said0559 unto Cain7014, Why art thou wroth2734? and why is thy countenance6440 fallen5307?
4:7 If0518 thou doest well3190, shalt thou not be accepted7613? and if thou doest not well3190, sin2403 lieth7257 at the door6607. And unto thee {shall be} his desire8669, and thou shalt rule4910 over him.
4:8 And Cain7014 talked0559 with0413 Abel1893 his brother0251: and it came to pass, when they were in the field7704, that Cain7014 rose up6965 against0413 Abel1893 his brother0251, and slew him2026.
4:9 And the LORD3068 said0559 unto Cain7014, Where0335 {is} Abel1893 thy brother0251? And he said0559, I know3045 not: {Am} I my brother's0251 keeper8104?
4:10 And he said0559, What4100 hast thou done6213? the voice6963 of thy brother's0251 blood1818 crieth6817 unto me from the ground0127.
4:11 And now {art} thou cursed0779 from the earth0127, which hath opened6475 her mouth6310 to receive3947 thy brother's0251 blood1818 from thy hand3027;
4:12 When3588 thou tillest5647 the ground0127, it shall not henceforth3254 yield5414 unto thee her strength3581; a fugitive5128 and a vagabond5110 shalt thou be in the earth0776.
4:13 And Cain7014 said0559 unto the LORD3068, My punishment5771 {is} greater1419 than I can bear5375.
4:14 Behold, thou hast driven me out1644 this day3117 from the face6440 of the earth0127; and from5921 thy face6440 shall I be hid5641; and I shall be a fugitive5128 and a vagabond5110 in the earth0776; and it shall come to pass1961, {that} every one that findeth me4672 shall slay me2026.
4:15 And the LORD3068 said0559 unto him, Therefore3651 whosoever slayeth2026 Cain7014, vengeance shall be taken5358 on him sevenfold7659. And the LORD3068 set7760 a mark0226 upon Cain7014, lest1115 any finding4672 him should kill5221 him.
4:16 And Cain7014 went out3318 from the presence6440 of the LORD3068, and dwelt3427 in the land0776 of Nod5113, on the east6926 of Eden5731.
4:17 And Cain7014 knew3045 his wife0802; and she conceived2029, and bare3205 Enoch2585: and he builded1129 a city5892, and called7121 the name8034 of the city5892, after the name8034 of his son1121, Enoch2585.
4:18 And unto Enoch2585 was born3205 Irad5897: and Irad5897 begat3205 Mehujael4232: and Mehujael4232 begat3205 Methusael4967: and Methusael4967 begat3205 Lamech3929.
4:19 And Lamech3929 took3947 unto him two8147 wives0802: the name8034 of the one0259 {was} Adah5711, and the name8034 of the other8145 Zillah6741.
4:20 And Adah5711 bare3205 Jabal2989: he was the father0001 of such as dwell3427 in tents0168, and {of such as have} cattle4735.
4:21 And his brother's0251 name8034 {was} Jubal3106: he was the father0001 of all such as handle8610 the harp3658 and organ5748.
4:22 And Zillah6741, she also bare3205 Tubalcain8423, an instructer3913 of every artificer2794 in brass5178 and iron1270: and the sister0269 of Tubalcain8423 {was} Naamah5279.
4:23 And Lamech3929 said0559 unto his wives0802, Adah5711 and Zillah6741, Hear8085 my voice6963; ye wives0802 of Lamech3929, hearken0238 unto my speech0565: for I have slain2026 a man0376 to my wounding6482, and a young man3206 to my hurt2250.
4:24 If3588 Cain7014 shall be avenged5358 sevenfold7659, truly Lamech3929 seventy7657 and sevenfold7651.
4:25 And Adam0120 knew3045 his wife0802 again5750; and she bare3205 a son1121, and called7121 his name8034 Seth8352: For God0430, {said she}, hath appointed7896 me another0312 seed2233 instead8478 of Abel1893, whom3588 Cain7014 slew2026.
4:26 And to Seth8352, to him1931 also there was born3205 a son1121; and he called7121 his name8034 Enos0583: then began men2490 to call7121 upon the name8034 of the LORD3068.
