20:1 And Abraham0085 journeyed5265 from thence toward the south5045 country0776, and dwelled3427 between Kadesh6946 and Shur7793, and sojourned1481 in Gerar1642.
20:2 And Abraham0085 said0559 of0413 Sarah8283 his wife0802, She {is} my sister0269: and Abimelech0040 king4428 of Gerar1642 sent7971, and took3947 Sarah8283.
20:3 But God0430 came0935 to Abimelech0040 in a dream2472 by night3915, and said0559 to him, Behold, thou {art but} a dead man4191, for the woman0802 which thou hast taken3947; for she {is} a man's1167 wife1166.
20:4 But Abimelech0040 had not come near7126 her: and he said0559, Lord0136, wilt thou slay2026 also a righteous6662 nation1471?
20:5 Said0559 he not unto me, She1931 {is} my sister0269? and she1931, even1571 she1931 herself said0559, He {is} my brother0251: in the integrity8537 of my heart3824 and innocency5356 of my hands3709 have I done6213 this.
20:6 And God0430 said0559 unto him in a dream2472, Yea1571, I know3045 that thou didst6213 this in the integrity8537 of thy heart3824; for I also withheld2820 thee from sinning2398 against me: therefore suffered5414 I thee not to touch5060 her.
20:7 Now therefore restore7725 the man0376 {his} wife0802; for he {is} a prophet5030, and he shall pray6419 for thee1157, and thou shalt live2421: and if thou restore7725 {her} not, know3045 thou that thou shalt surely4191 die4191, thou, and all that {are} thine.
20:8 Therefore Abimelech0040 rose early7925 in the morning1242, and called7121 all his servants5650, and told1696 all these things1697 in their ears0241: and the men0582 were sore3966 afraid3372.
20:9 Then Abimelech0040 called7121 Abraham0085, and said0559 unto him, What hast thou done6213 unto us? and what have I offended2398 thee, that thou hast brought0935 on me and on my kingdom4467 a great1419 sin2401? thou hast done6213 deeds4639 unto me that ought not to be done6213.
20:10 And Abimelech0040 said0559 unto Abraham0085, What4100 sawest thou7200, that thou hast done6213 this thing1697?
20:11 And Abraham0085 said0559, Because I thought0559, Surely7535 the fear3374 of God0430 {is} not in this place4725; and they will slay me2026 for my wife's0802 sake1697.
20:12 And yet indeed0546 {she is} my sister0269; she {is} the daughter1323 of my father0001, but not the daughter1323 of my mother0517; and she became my wife0802.
20:13 And it came to pass, when God0430 caused me to wander8582 from my father's0001 house1004, that I said0559 unto her, This {is} thy kindness2617 which thou shalt shew6213 unto me; at every place4725 whither we shall come0935, say0559 of me, He {is} my brother0251.
20:14 And Abimelech0040 took3947 sheep6629, and oxen1241, and menservants5650, and womenservants8198, and gave5414 {them} unto Abraham0085, and restored7725 him Sarah8283 his wife0802.
20:15 And Abimelech0040 said0559, Behold, my land0776 {is} before thee6440: dwell3427 where it pleaseth2896-5869 thee.
20:16 And unto Sarah8283 he said0559, Behold, I have given5414 thy brother0251 a thousand0505 {pieces} of silver3701: behold, he {is} to thee a covering3682 of the eyes5869, unto all that {are} with thee, and with all {other}: thus she was reproved3198.
20:17 So Abraham0085 prayed6419 unto God0430: and God0430 healed7495 Abimelech0040, and his wife0802, and his maidservants0519; and they bare3205 {children}.
20:18 For the LORD3068 had fast6113 closed up6113 all the wombs7358 of the house1004 of Abimelech0040, because1697 of Sarah8283 Abraham's0085 wife0802.
