18:1 And the LORD3068 appeared7200 unto him in the plains0436 of Mamre4471: and he sat3427 in the tent0168 door6607 in the heat2527 of the day3117;
18:2 And he lift up5375 his eyes5869 and looked7200, and, lo, three7969 men0582 stood5324 by him: and when he saw7200 {them}, he ran7323 to meet7125 them from the tent0168 door6607, and bowed7812 himself toward the ground0776,
18:3 And said0559, My Lord0136, if now I have found4672 favour2580 in thy sight5869, pass not away5674, I pray thee, from thy servant5650:
18:4 Let a little4592 water4325, I pray you4994, be fetched3947, and wash7364 your feet7272, and rest yourselves8172 under the tree6086:
18:5 And I will fetch3947 a morsel6595 of bread3899, and comfort ye5582 your hearts3820; after that0310 ye shall pass on5674: for therefore are ye come5674 to5921 your servant5650. And they said1696, So do6213, as thou hast said0559.
18:6 And Abraham0085 hastened4116 into the tent0168 unto Sarah8283, and said0559, Make ready quickly4116 three7969 measures5429 of fine5560 meal7058, knead3888 {it}, and make6213 cakes5692 upon the hearth6213.
18:7 And Abraham0085 ran7323 unto the herd1241, and fetcht3947 a calf1121-1241 tender7390 and good2896, and gave5414 {it} unto a young man5288; and he hasted4116 to dress6213 it.
18:8 And he took3947 butter2529, and milk2461, and the calf1121-1241 which he had dressed6213, and set5414 {it} before them6440; and he stood5975 by them under the tree6086, and they did eat0398.
18:9 And they said0559 unto him, Where0346 {is} Sarah8283 thy wife0802? And he said0559, Behold, in the tent0168.
18:10 And he said0559, I will certainly7725 return7725 unto thee according to the time6256 of life2416; and, lo, Sarah8283 thy wife0802 shall have a son1121. And Sarah8283 heard8085 {it} in the tent0168 door6607, which {was} behind him0310.
18:11 Now Abraham0085 and Sarah8283 {were} old2205 {and} well stricken0935 in age3117; {and} it ceased2308 to be with Sarah8283 after the manner0734 of women0802.
18:12 Therefore Sarah8283 laughed6711 within herself7130, saying0559, After0310 I am waxed old1086 shall I have pleasure5730, my lord0113 being old also2204?
18:13 And the LORD3068 said0559 unto Abraham0085, Wherefore4100 did Sarah8283 laugh6711, saying0559, Shall I of a surety0552 bear3205 a child, which0589 am old2204?
18:14 Is6381 any thing1697 too hard6381 for the LORD3068? At the time appointed4150 I will return7725 unto thee, according to the time6256 of life2416, and Sarah8283 shall have a son1121.
18:15 Then Sarah8283 denied3584, saying0559, I laughed6711 not; for she was afraid3372. And he said0559, Nay3808; but thou didst laugh6711.
18:16 And the men0582 rose up6965 from thence, and looked8259 toward6440 Sodom5467: and Abraham0085 went1980 with them to bring them on the way7971.
18:17 And the LORD3068 said0559, Shall I hide3680 from Abraham0085 that thing which0834 I do6213;
18:18 Seeing that Abraham0085 shall surely become a great1419 and mighty6099 nation1471, and all the nations1471 of the earth0776 shall be blessed1288 in him?
18:19 For I know3045 him, that0834 he will command6680 his children1121 and his household1004 after him0310, and they shall keep8104 the way1870 of the LORD3068, to do6213 justice6666 and judgment4941; that the LORD3068 may bring0935 upon Abraham0085 that which he hath spoken1696 of him.
18:20 And the LORD3068 said0559, Because the cry2201 of Sodom5467 and Gomorrah6017 is great7227, and because their sin2403 is very3966 grievous3513;
18:21 I will go down3381 now, and see7200 whether they have done6213 altogether3617 according to the cry6818 of it, which is come0935 unto me; and if not, I will know3045.
18:22 And the men0582 turned their faces6437 from thence, and went3212 toward Sodom5467: but Abraham0085 stood5975 yet5750 before6440 the LORD3068.
18:23 And Abraham0085 drew near5066, and said0559, Wilt thou also destroy5595 the righteous6662 with5973 the wicked7563?
18:24 Peradventure there be3426 fifty2572 righteous6662 within8432 the city5892: wilt thou also destroy5595 and not spare5375 the place4725 for4616 the fifty2572 righteous6662 that {are} therein7130?
18:25 That be far2486 from thee to do6213 after this manner1697, to slay4191 the righteous6662 with the wicked7563: and that the righteous6662 should be as the wicked7563, that be far2486 from thee: Shall not the Judge8199 of all the earth0776 do6213 right4941?
18:26 And the LORD3068 said0559, If I find4672 in Sodom5467 fifty2572 righteous6662 within8432 the city5892, then I will spare5375 all the place4725 for their sakes.
18:27 And Abraham0085 answered6030 and said0559, Behold now, I have taken upon me2974 to speak1696 unto the Lord0136, which0595 {am but} dust6083 and ashes0665:
18:28 Peradventure there shall lack2637 five2568 of the fifty2572 righteous6662: wilt thou destroy7843 all the city5892 for {lack of} five2568? And he said0559, If I find4672 there forty0705 and five2568, I will not destroy7843 {it}.
18:29 And he spake1696 unto him yet again3254, and said0559, Peradventure there shall be forty0705 found4672 there. And he said0559, I will not do6213 {it} for forty's0705 sake.
18:30 And he said0559 {unto him}, Oh4994 let not the Lord0136 be angry2734, and I will speak1696: Peradventure there shall thirty7970 be found4672 there. And he said0559, I will not do6213 {it}, if I find4672 thirty7970 there.
18:31 And he said0559, Behold now, I have taken upon me2974 to speak1696 unto the Lord0136: Peradventure there shall be twenty6242 found4672 there. And he said0559, I will not destroy7843 {it} for twenty's6242 sake.
18:32 And he said0559, Oh let not the Lord0136 be angry2734, and I will speak1696 yet0389 but this once6471: Peradventure ten6235 shall be found4672 there. And he said0559, I will not destroy7843 {it} for ten's6235 sake.
18:33 And the LORD3068 went his way3212, as soon as0834 he had left3615 communing1696 with Abraham0085: and Abraham0085 returned7725 unto his place4725.
